Press On (mittens)
by Meli Alness
Knit flat using intarsia colorwork, these mittens are super fun and quick to knit. And warm! The color block design is inspired by the traditional aprons worn by Tibetan women...
A tribute to the Tibetan women I have known and the resilience they have shown in the midst of hardship. The young women: striving to maintain their cultural identity in a quickly modernizing society. The survivor women: showing fortitude amid domestic abuse. The nomad women: rising early to milk the yak, start the fire, churn the butter, make the tea, pasture the yak, pasture the yak, pasture the yak. Despite extreme weather always caring for the yak as the yak provide for them. Be inspired by these women and Press On.
